CEBL SUMMER SERIES – EDMONTON WINS THE CHAMPIONSHIP

The Edmonton Stingers are now the CEBL champions, beating the Fraser Valley Bandits 90-73.
Edmonton had the second best record last year at 14-6 but lost in the first round to the eventual champions Saskatchewan Rattlers.
This season the Stingers went 5-1 in regular season play, losing their only game to the Bandits.
Edmonton held Fraser Valley to 35 per cent shooting from the field while they shot 51 per cent.
They dominated play in the paint, scoring 44 points compared to 14 for the Bandits.
They were also able to get on the offensive glass, out-rebounding Fraser Valley 15-10. Overall they had the edge in rebounding 43-31.
Finals MVP was awarded to Xavier Moon. He had 31 points, five rebounds and three steals. Travis Daniels also had 14 points and eight rebounds.
Fraser Valley had six players score in double digits but no one scored more than 13 points.
